My Son Was Arrested For Possession of Under 20 Grams of Marijuana – By: Larry Lawton

Question:   My 21-year-old son was arrested on a possession charge – under 20 grams of marijuana.  He hasn’t been in trouble in over a year.  He was on probation for possession of a gun and had a few minor traffic charges.  What can I expect the court to do?

Answer:  First off, he needs to grow up. Since you said he WAS on probation, I have to assume he is not on any kind of supervision at all.  When I get a question like this, I wonder what it will take for your son to, “get it”.  It’s time for your son to grow up.  Minor charges such as traffic infractions are a sign that your son still needs to grow up. He thinks he is invincible and that is scary.  The gun charge is a whole different story and worries me the most.

As far as what you can expect, possession of under 20 grams of marijuana is a misdemeanor, at least in Florida it is. A misdemeanor carries less than a year in jail.  What most Judges do is try and find a way to help a young person to wake-up, open their eyes and make them realize they are heading in the wrong direction and it could get a lot worse. Some Judges use the Reality Check Program video to open a person’s eyes. You don’t need to wait for a Judge to sentence your son to the Reality Check Program video. You can get it.

The Reality Check Program shows teens and young adults the consequences of making bad choices. Topics include:

1. Larry Lawton’s Life
2. What Prison is REALLY Like
3. What You Will Lose
4. Avoiding and Dissolving Bad Associations.

This Program is not your typical “don’t do what I did” Program. Although the “don’t do what I did” approach is incorporated in the curriculum, the basis of the program is the structure of the four parts, and how they are taught. The four parts were carefully designed to open the mind in a positive way and then teach a person how to change and make better choices.

As the mother, your job is to try and open your sons’ eyes. Go online and purchase the Reality Check Program Video.  The video is only thirty-five bucks and it just might save his life. No excuses.
