The second annual Reality Check wine tasting fundraiser was a huge success. TD bank donated $5,000 to the Reality Check Foundation. Accepting the check was Mr. Larry Lawton, Founder and President of Lawton911 and the Reality Check Program. Mr. Lawton founded the foundation to help low to moderate income families bring the Reality Check Program DVD and Mr. Lawton’s live presentations to their area.
The fundraiser was held at Matt’s Casbah with some notables attending like Judge Maxwell, Judge Majeed, Judge Silverman, Commissioner Anderson, Public Defender JR Russo, Assistant State Attorney Phil Archer candidate for State Attorney of the 18th judicial circuit, Brevard County Sheriff Lt. Todd Maddox candidate for Brevard County Sheriff and Peter Golenbock, 5 time NY Times bestselling author who is doing a book titled “Larry Florida” – A Goodfella becomes a Good Guy with Mr. Lawton. The year end Community Champion Award was also given out to David Alpizar of Alpizar law for his community service outside the law profession. David received a beautiful plaque with gifts that included, $150.00 cash from the Reality Check Foundation, an additional $50 visa gift card donated by the foundation, $65 bowling pass donated by Shore Lanes in Palm Bay, $50 gift card from City Limits restaurant and bar in Melbourne, $50 gift card from Matt’s Casbah in Melbourne and a $25 visa gift card donated by TD Bank.
A 42″ Plasma TV, Blue Ray DVD player, Portable DVD player, a box of Warlock cigars and multiple dinner gift cards were all raffled off to raise money for the youth of tomorrow.
The winner of the 42″ Plasma TV was past Community Champion Award recipient Aldo Nunez and his wife Reaah Nunez.
